2D to 3D Converter
If you are the type of person who collects movies as a hobby, we are sure you already have lots of DVD and Blu-ray movies on home storage shelves. If you have a 2D movie that you want to watch in 3D, DVDFab 2D to 3D Converter should be the priority selection, which apply sophisticated algorithms to do the 2D to 3D conversion for very high quality. You don't have to go to 3D capable theaters, instead you can enjoy spectacular 3D watching at home now.
How to convert 2D videos to 3D?
Current 2D to 3D conversion feature is available in DVDFab DVD Ripper, Blu-ray Ripper and Video Converter. Only when you add 2D format source files/DVDs into DVDFab, this feature will be triggered correspondingly, otherwise you will find out this 2D to 3D box disabled by default.
Note: Most of the listed devices in DVD Ripper / Blu-ray Ripper / Video Converter are not compatible 3D display devices, we can not view 3D video with naked eyes on them, that's why you can only be allowed to choose to AVI, to MP4, to MKV, to FLV, to M2TS, to TS, etc. "2D to 3D" box would be disabled when you choose Cellphone, iPod/iPhone, iPad, PVP, PDA, etc.
The following is a guide to realize and maximize your 3D watching experience. Hope it will be helpful.
Step1) Load DVD source
Start DVDFab, go to DVD Ripper. As you can see, 2D to 3D box become highlighted once source movie was loaded. Please check this box, and select movie titles from the tilte list, as well as your desired audio/subpicture tracks.
Step2) Set output video effect
Press "Video Effect Settings" button to open the advanced setting window, here you can resize/crop 3D video, set 3D video output as left/right (side-by-side) or top/bottom format, or two separate files, just like "Blu-ray 3D Ripper". Please make your prefer adjustments of the settings before start converting.
Video Frame size: Please choose Full(100%), then go back to “Resize”window to check the frame resolution; choose Half(50%), then go back to "Resize" to check the frame resolution; you will find the difference.
Note: Some 3D TV can not support 3840*1080 frame resolution, which means you can not select Full(100%) for output. Yet most of 3D player softwares can support 3840*1080 and 1920*1080, so please check Half(50%) or Full(100%) according to your needs.
Visual Depth： 3D means three-dimensional, i.e. something that has width, height and depth (length). Virual Depth provides a distance as to how far away two images (one for left eye another for right eye) is.
Gain: "4" means 4 times increased in Visual Depth. The larger gain number, the deeper depth perception you get.
For a high image/sound quality you can click on "Edit" button to manually set the parameters: Video Bitrate, Audio Bitrate, Frame Rate, Video Size, frame resolution. Please choose to increase or decrease the values according to your needs.
Open Queue window you will find 2D to 3D converter also offers batch conversion feature which will save you much time to do the repetitive work, please manually choose profile for each task.
Step3) Start Conversion
Click on "Start" button to start the conversion process, you can track via the processing bar to follow how much time it will take and how much time left.
Step4) Play 3D Video
After finish the translation from the conventional two dimensional movie (2D) to a three dimensional one (3D), it's time for us to enjoy the wonderful feeling of 3D viewing. You ought to purchase some other equipments such as a 3D DVD player, a 3D compatible television and 3D glasses as well.
When you buy 3D compatible TV, it usually comes with detailed instructions and two pairs wireless 3D glasses such as Sony KDL-55HX800 55" HDTV LED TV.
Note: you need press the 3D button on the remote to enable 3D viewing.
If you want to play the converted 3D video on Computer, you may need 3D Video player like NVIDIA 3D Vision Video Player or Stereoscopic Player .
With 3D viewing, you would have a horrific "you-are-there" feel as if something is pulling you towards the scene. With the 3D glasses, you would be more engrossed in the movie. All of these makes the experience more real to us than other ordinary films. Please try it out and may you have a happy journey with your 3D conversion and watching !
