Check for DMA automatically
If your system is using PIO mode - Passkey will find this when you start the program and ask you if you want to enable DMA for DVD drive and hard disk. If Passkey finds PIO transfer mode is enabled, a window will pop up with a button allowing you to assert DMA mode for optical drives and hard discs.
Press the button 'Reset DMA' to perform this function at times other than startup, such as if read/scan time become very slow, you may need reset DMA. After this you should restart your PC to make sure DMA mode is enabled. The next time you start Passkey this DMA enable window should not appear.
I/O Mode
I/O is just short for input/output and refers to a device or program that transfers data. If you're not having trouble, we suggest you choose "Normal mode". Sometimes softwares such as 1Click DVD Copy, Intervideo DVD Copy, Pinnacle InstantCopy, Roxio Createor 2010 Pro require "Advanced I/O Mode".
